I started Pawcroft because I wanted the things we buy for our dogs every day to be chosen with the same care as the boots, bags and leather goods we buy for ourselves. My husband is Mexican, and our connection to Mexico led us to León, where leatherworking is part of the city’s identity.

What makes us special

In an age of mass production, Pawcroft takes a slower, more considered approach. Every piece reflects the materials, craftsmanship and attention to detail behind it, creating accessories designed to become part of your dog’s story.

Our pieces are handcrafted in a small artisan workshop in Leon, established in 1997. Today, a team of seven experienced women artisans continues a tradition of leather-working passed down through generations. Each collar and lead goes through careful leather preparation, cutting, shaping, assembly, edge finishing, hardware fitting and final inspection.

We use premium full-grain leather sourced from a specialist tannery in Leon, alongside carefully selected hardware chosen for its quality, character and longevity. Rather than hiding the natural variations in the leather, we embrace them. With time and use, each piece softens and develops its own distinctive patina.

I wanted something made with the same care and love they give me. We choose to work exclusively with full-grain leather because quite simply, it is the finest quality you can find. Taken from the very top layer of the hide where the natural fibers are at their densest, full-grain leather retains all its inherent strength. We never sand or buff away its character, meaning it won't peel or split, but rather grows softer and develops a gorgeous, characterful patina over the years as it is used and loved.

To make our pieces feel truly special, we also use a double-sided leather construction. Instead of leaving a rough or fuzzy backing on the underside, both sides are smoothly finished and seamlessly bonded together. This gives every piece exceptional strength, prevents stretching and fraying, and ensures a tactile, luxurious feel from every single angle.
